President’s Message
Twenty years of commitment, sharing, and conviction
Twenty years ago, an adventure began that we never imagined would be so lasting: the creation of a space for cooperation and shared knowledge in pharmacovigilance.
It all started during my early collaborations with the WHO, where I noticed that the majority of tools and training programs were only available in English. From this, a conviction was born: pharmacovigilance had to be spoken in French as well. Together with the Moroccan team, we worked to create training programs that were adapted, accessible, and rooted in the reality of French-speaking countries.
In 2007, the first French-speaking Inter-country Pharmacovigilance Course was launched in Rabat, in partnership with the WHO. Since then, it has been held every year without interruption, training more than 1,000 professionals from 30 countries.
Covid-19 transformed this event into an online course, more interactive and in-depth, which is now recognized as a University Diploma and accompanied by the book “Pharmacovigilance au quotidien” (Pharmacovigilance in daily practice), a natural extension of the learning process.
In 2026, the course will celebrate a double milestone: the 20th French-speaking edition and the very first English-speaking edition, a symbol of global outreach true to its original spirit:
“A human adventure driven by the conviction that knowledge only has meaning when it is shared.”
